Read moreSymptoms of an EFI problem include the smell of fuel in the car, idling roughly, problems with starting and frequent stalling.
The Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) system was built to rapidly deliver fuel to the engine with optimum efficiency, resulting in your vehicle performing optimally and conserving fuel. When something is not right with the EFI system, not only will your car begin to show poor performance, it will also start to guzzle more fuel than normal.
An abundance of parts, from oxygen sensors and coolant sensors to MAP sensors and camshaft or crankshaft sensors, may lead to difficulties related to fuel injection. Throttle position sensors, airflow sensors, intake air temperature sensors, internal driver circuits, and power relays could also be the cause of the issue.
Then you need to consider the various components that make up the fuel system itself such as fuel pumps, pump relays, fuel filters, fuel lines, pressure regulators and injectors, all of which can prevent fuel from reaching the engine or reaching it at the ideal pressure if there is a problem with them.
